Jet-Setting Pt. 2

Before arriving in CA I spent 5 days in Belize.  It was the perfect getaway after a particularly stressful week at work!  The weather was perfect, the seafood was unbelievable, the water was amazing, and the company even better :-)

I would highly recommend a trip to "La Isla Bonita".....there's a reason Madonna was inspired to write a song about it!!
Caye Caulker-"Go Slow" is the motto of the island!

Stocked for a day at the "Split"!

View of the "split" from the water-a hurricane literally split the island in two!
We spent one day visiting the Mayan ruins

Hellooooo down there!
Can you see me all the way up there??  It was much higher than I thought and coming down was so much harder than getting up there!
Jet's Bar is an institution in the Belize City airport-had to have one final rum punch before my flight to California!

Jet-Setting Pt. 1

Sticking with the working backwards theme, I spent my actual birthday at home in the Napa Valley.  It was so weird to be at home on my birthday for the first time since my 18th (I remember it like it was yesterday, dinner at Mustard's, Baskin-Robbins ice cream cake).  It was nice to be with friends and family and to indulge in some of my favorite tastes of home.  Highlights included the first farmer's market of the season, the annual sidewalk sale on main street, lazy days at Meadowood, and meals at some old faves and new spots in town!

Birthday morning bun and farmer's market flowers!

Home just in time for the Cakebread grower's tasting of 2011 fruit!
Guac sampler at La Condesa to celebrate Cinco de Mayo!
Walking home after dinner with the "largest moon of our lifetime" shining bright over Main St.
No words...
Poolside blackberry mojitos and my favorite kind of spread!

Working backwards...Post Birthday-Birthday Celebrations!

So much has gone on in the past month I don't even know where to start!  I think I'll start with the most recent and go back from there.  This past weekend was my first weekend back in NY in almost a month, and I took full advantage.  The weather was amazing!!  My friends took the weekend to celebrate my birthday since I was in CA for the actual day.  Friday I thought I was meeting one friend for dinner, and turns out my cousin and another friend were surprise guests!  Saturday we brunched, and then walked around the city.  Saturday night we went to Cacky's apt where I'm pretty sure we consumed more bottles of wine than there were people!  An amazing dance party ensued before we hit the town.  Sunday was spent lounging in Madison Sq. Park and then we finished the weekend with a leisurely dinner at the Spotted Pig.  Perfection!

Oyster Shooters!
Multiple birthday candles, balloons, and one hysterical birthday card!
